The Julian Charter School (JCS) Academy Teacher Handbook has been created to assist teachers with up-to-date policies and procedures unique to JCS. Teachers will be able to quickly reference the manual to find answers to commonly asked questions when completing weekly assignments, monthly state-required paperwork, semester report cards, and more.
The creation of the JCS Academy Teacher Handbook aligns directly with Domain III of the Teacher Leader Model Standards, "The teacher leader understands the evolving nature of teaching and learning, established and emerging technologies, and the school community. The teacher leader uses this knowledge to promote, design, and facilitate job-embedded professional learning aligned with school improvement goals." It specifically addresses Element 2, "Uses information about adult learning to respond to the diverse learning needs of colleagues by identifying, promoting, and facilitating varied and differentiated professional learning," Element 3, "Facilitates professional learning among colleagues," and Element 5, "Works with colleagues to collect, analyze, and disseminate data related to the quality of professional learning and its effect on teaching and student learning."
